Compared with the previously released "Li-ion Battery Industry Specification Conditions (2021 Edition)" (Draft for Comment), the officially released "Specification" cancels the "energy density of energy-based power battery projects" in new power battery projects. Should be ≥180Wh/kg, the energy density of the battery pack should be ≥120Wh/kg”, which means that the restrictions on lithium iron phosphate projects have been relaxed. It is worth noting that, at the same time, the requirements for ternary batteries are clearly limited, and the minimum single energy density of new projects should be above 210Wh/kg.

In order to further strengthen the management of the lithium-ion battery industry and promote the transformation and upgrading of the industry and technological progress, our ministry has revised the "Lithium-ion Battery Industry Standard Conditions" and the "Interim Measures for the Management of Lithium-ion Battery Industry Standard Announcements", which are hereby announced. . "Lithium-ion Battery Industry Standard Conditions (2018 Version)" and "Interim Measures for the Administration of Lithium-ion Battery Industry Specification Announcements (2018 Version)" (Ministry of Industry and Information Technology Announcement No. 5 of 2019) are abolished at the same time.
